Loggic Labs LLC
Privacy Policy
FretCipher is a guitar-fretboard and music-theory learning app operated by Loggic Labs LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how we handle information when you use FretCipher through our website or app.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: Your email address, any profile name you provide, an account identifier, and account-verification and login information. Authentication is handled by Supabase, which processes credentials and manages sessions. If you choose a supported third-party sign-in method, we receive account information made available by that provider.
- Content you save: Your saved custom scales, note combinations, scale names, custom color schemes, and related preferences. Some display preferences and tour-completion settings may also be stored locally on your device.
- Messages to us: If you submit a bug report or contact support, we receive the information you include, which may include your email address, subject, description, and any personal information you choose to write.
- Technical information: Our hosting, authentication, and security providers may process IP addresses, browser or device information, request timestamps, authentication/session data, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the service.
- Optional usage analytics: Only if you enable it in Account settings, Google Analytics may process limited feature-use events and active-session durations, along with technical data and analytics identifiers such as cookies. We do not intentionally send your email address, saved scales, scale names, or bug-report text to Google Analytics.
We do not request access to your device's precise GPS location, contacts, or microphone for the functionality described here.
2. How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, deliver FretCipher features, sync your saved scales and color schemes, send requested authentication emails, answer support inquiries, troubleshoot problems, and protect the app from abuse. If you separately opt in to usage analytics, we use those measurements to understand which features are used and improve the product.
We do not sell your personal information or use your FretCipher account information for third-party advertising.
3. Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers to operate FretCipher. Depending on which features you use, information may be processed by:
- Supabase: Account authentication, database hosting, saved content, and server-side application functions.
- Cloudflare: Website delivery, network services, and security.
- Resend: Delivery of verification, password-reset, and other service emails. Support reports may also be emailed to us if email delivery is configured for that feature.
- Google Analytics: Optional usage measurement, only after you enable analytics in Account settings.
We select services with privacy and security safeguards and require providers acting on our behalf to protect the information they process consistently with the purposes described here. Their processing is also governed by their applicable agreements and privacy policies. We may disclose information if required by law, to address security incidents, or to protect users and our legal rights.
4. Cookies, analytics, and your choices
Authentication and local storage help keep you signed in and remember your app preferences. Those features are used to operate the service. Optional Google Analytics is off by default. You can turn it on or off at any time using the Optional usage analytics switch in FretCipher's Account settings. Declining analytics does not prevent you from using FretCipher.
Turning analytics off prevents further optional analytics collection from that browser or device and clears accessible analytics cookies for FretCipher. It does not automatically remove data that may have been collected while your consent was active. To ask about previously collected information, contact us below.
5. Retention and account deletion
We generally retain your account information and saved scales and color schemes while you maintain an account. If you delete your account through Account → Delete account, FretCipher deletes your authentication account and associated saved scales, color schemes, and bug reports linked to that account. Deletion cannot be undone.
Operational logs, temporary backups, email-delivery records, or other information processed by providers may remain for limited periods under their retention schedules or where needed for security, legal obligations, or dispute resolution. If you contacted us separately by email, those separate messages may not be automatically removed when your app account is deleted; you can request their removal. Google Analytics information, if you opted in, is subject to its configured retention and deletion mechanisms.
6. Access, correction, and privacy requests
You can view and manage saved scales and color schemes inside FretCipher and can delete your entire account from Account settings. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of other personal information, or to raise a privacy concern, email privacy@fretcipher.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Additional privacy rights may apply depending on where you live.
Delete your account: Sign in, open Account settings using the settings icon, choose Delete account, and confirm. You can also contact us at the address above if you need help.
7. Security
We use measures designed to protect personal information, including encrypted network connections, authenticated access, and database access controls. No website, app, transmission, or storage system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International processing
FretCipher is operated from the United States. Depending on your location and the providers involved, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries. We apply appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.
9. Children
FretCipher is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization. If you believe a child has provided us personal information inappropriately, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as FretCipher evolves. We will publish the revised policy here and update its effective date. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent for a material change, we will provide it.
